ravening /ˈravənɪŋ/ adjective (of a ferocious wild animal) extremely hungry and hunting for prey. One could put this movie in Lunchbox meets Silence of the Lambs genre, but it does not do justice to it's ulterior themes. The visual subtleties like that of a 2 second scene of a touch me not plant folding itself when the protagonists pass depicting their complex relationship was a visual treat to watch and the soundtrack only adds more to it. Most of second half of the movie gave me Requiem for a Dream vibes (especially the psychedelic scene) as they both go deep down the rabbit hole of addiction (or craving, hence the title). The movie is filled with even more visual metaphors which is for the viewer to interpret. Last time I saw something this dense was Masaan (hugely recommended). Some might argue about it with a "it gives a bad message" face like they did with Phillips's Joker but IMO the movie did exceptionally well in capturing the human psyche with it's art and art preceds ethics. I don't usually post about movies in general but Aamis is worth the hype it has created.
